Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: October 13, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Babu Motors Uganda. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for using our Drive to Own services and mobile application.

2. Eligibility

To be eligible for our Drive to Own program, applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid Ugandan driving license or permit
• Provide required documentation:
  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • National ID or Passport
  • Valid driving permit

3. Payment Terms

3.1 Deposit

All Drive to Own contracts require an initial deposit, the amount of which will be specified in your individual agreement.

3.2 Monthly Payments

• Payments are due on the agreed-upon date each month
• Late payments will incur fees as outlined in your contract
• All payments must be made through approved payment methods
• We do NOT collect or store your bank account or credit card information

4. GPS Tracking and Vehicle Security

4.1 GPS Installation

• Babu Motors will install GPS tracking devices on all leased vehicles
• GPS tracking is mandatory and protects both the lessee and Babu Motors from theft
• The GPS device remains property of Babu Motors until full ownership transfer
• Tampering with or removing the GPS device is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate contract termination

4.2 Purpose of GPS Tracking

• Vehicle security and theft prevention
• Recovery of stolen vehicles
• Protection of both lessee and company assets

5. Vehicle Maintenance

5.1 Regular Service

• Regular maintenance is recommended as per manufacturer guidelines
• You may service the vehicle at any qualified service center
• Keep records of all maintenance performed

5.2 Repairs

• Report any major issues to Babu Motors customer service
• You are responsible for maintaining the vehicle in good working condition

6. Insurance Requirements

The lessee is responsible for ensuring the vehicle has appropriate insurance coverage as required by Ugandan law.

7. Data Privacy

By using our services, you agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information, including location data from GPS tracking devices. We do NOT share your personal information with third parties except as required by law.

8. Termination of Agreement

The Drive to Own agreement may be terminated under the following circumstances:

• Consistent late payments (as defined in your contract)
• Violation of these terms
• Tampering with or removal of GPS tracking device
• Unauthorized modification of the vehicle that affects safety or value
• Illegal use of the vehicle
• Providing false information during application

9. Vehicle Ownership Transfer

Upon successful completion of all payments and terms:

• Ownership will be transferred to the lessee within 14 business days
• GPS tracking device will be removed at no cost
• All necessary transfer documents will be provided

10. Changes to Terms

Babu Motors reserves the right to modify these terms. Any changes will be communicated to clients with a 30-day notice period.

11. Customer Discovery Feature

Our mobile app may include features to help lessees discover potential customers in their area. Use of this feature is optional and requires location permissions on your mobile device.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with Ugandan law.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Babu Motors mobile application and Drive to Own services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
